Monday was our last day with Kerry and Dave on our Garden Route tour and there was a sadness in the air…we all bonded and had a great time together; it just wasn’t going to be the same without them. But we were also looking forward to starting our volunteer part of the trip in Oudtshoorn at Cango Wildlife Ranch. Read the rest of this entry »

Four crazy awesome girls about to do a world record bungy jump...

I know this is the one you have all been waiting for!!! I have to admit this activity was one of the main reasons I chose to go on this volunteer trip and not the other one’s offered in South Africa…I mean how often are you going to get the chance to do a world record activity? I never get sick boating on the lake so maybe the ocean fishing incident was a onetime thing….

this is Andrea, amazing profile shot!

After the private game reserve tour we packed up the van and headed off to Mossel Bay to send Katie up in a plane so she can jump out.  Katie was the only one who was expected to go at that point, the rest of us were holding off due to funds.  We pulled into airstrip, took pictures on this oddly placed oversized chair for no reason and headed over to the hanger to get Katie suited up. Of course the jump was Tandem, and our Tandem master was Hank; a very vivacious guy who loved every jump – which was about 19 a day.
