The cape vulture has become one of my favorite birds. Not only is is stunningly gorgeous, with its beautiful white feathers, purple neck, and piercing golden eyes encircled in blue, but because they do not kill, they simply eat what was leftover, the recyclers of the earth; one of mother natures most treasured necessities. Unfortunately pesticides used in farming are killing off this spectacular bird. Cango wildlife ranch in South Africa rescued these vultures from injurious situations. Taken September 2009.
