Unfortunately I zoomed in too much and cut off the picture at the bottom; but it was too interesting of a photo to leave out of my portfolio. Taken at Cango Wildlife Ranch, South Africa, September 2009.

Now this is one gorgeous cat! It looks like the tiger is ready to pounce on its next victim, when in reality she is just avoiding the sprinkler system from hitting her in the face…sorry to ruin the romantic and mysteriousness of the picture…but it is still striking and gorgeous nonetheless. This is one of my favorite pictures from my South Africa trip. No cropping was done to this photo…somehow, magically, luckily, I captured a special illusion where it looks like the tail of the lemur sitting down cuts off at the bottom of the photo and shows up at the top…here you get to see an entire lemur, only it’s really two! I also love how it showcases how neat their cute little hands and feet are. Like little human hands with cushy pads. Taken at Cango Wildlife Ranch, South Africa, September 2009.
While some shots look great as they normally appear on your screen, some you really need to magnify to 150% to take in the full detail of these spectacular animals. I suggest magnifying to 150%, especially to view the vulture photos to really see up close how beautiful their feathers are. The good thing about having a high megapixel camera is it’s ability to capture intricate detail…let me know if any of you try this and if it gives you a different perspective on the pictures…one in particular, is of the white tiger lying by the fence, when magnified you can see the tear drop falling down it’s face…in normal view you completely overlook this special detail.
Thank you for all of you who are leaving comments, it is greatly appreciated. Sorry that it is taking me so long to get through my South Africa pictures…I’ll hopefully be posting 2010 pics by the beginning of May, so keep checking back for new and improved pics.
Sincerely,
Kristen M. Magno

While volunteering at Cango we were given the task of transporting a few baby crocodiles from their nursery to a pond in one of the tropical areas of the ranch. It was neat to be able to hold such a fragile baby that will some day grow up to be a very deadly and feared creature. Their skin felt smooth like silk and their golden yellow eyes are so neat looking. Taken at Cango Wildlife Ranch, South Africa, September 2009.

Now this name fits the bird for it is supremely superb! The shimmery iridescent colors of teal, cobalt blue, and pumpkin orange feathers are mesmerizing, as is its inquisitive gaze; or maybe I am mistaking inquisition with disdain for taking his picture…he does have a kind of arrogant pissed off look in his eyes.
